How to Fix a Bad Resume

There is much advice on how to fix a bad resume. But let's think about this for a second. What is so bad about it? If it is just spelling or grammatical errors that is easily solved through reading and critique by a third party. Go to your local community college or library to find information or responsible people who will give your paper a quick read.

Sometimes honors students are also available if you don't mind going that route. Another area you can turn to is your local unemployment agency. They have specialists on staff who will help you on this subject. Maybe you feel that you are lacking experience. If that is so, list all of the jobs that you have held to date. Now put down any and all duties that you performed with that company. Once that is done, there is probably a common theme amongst all of these employment experiences. Find that and focus on writing your resume to your strength. Find a job position that describes you and your areas of expertise.

If you have done something similar for more than one company, you are obviously a unique individual who has positive capabilities. Think of any awards you may have won or some volunteer work that you do for the community. This shows that you are an asset to your city or town. If you are willing to go the extra mile without being paid for your work, then employers will sit up and take notice. Here's somebody that will work hard for me as well. Follow these tips and get that resume spruced up! It won't be easy but nothing worth doing typically is easy.

Good luck!
